The FOM ‘vellie’ is our unique interpretation of the iconic South African shoe and will steadily become one of the most versatile and comfortable shoes you have ever owned. From semi-formal to braai, the perfect wheels for any adventure.
Our Whiskey vellies are made from premium full-grain leather with a waxy finish. While you stay free and keep moving the waxy surface of the leather will start to scuff and evidence of character will show up on your adventure wheels. This is because scuffing the shoe takes the oil off the surface but these marks are nothing to worry about as they can easily be polished out. Like a proper whiskey, expect these to get better with age. Handcrafted in South Africa from very durable and premium leather.
We strongly recommend purchasing the protector to keep your vellies in great shape. This invisible shield on the surface of your shoes protects them from the penetration of water, oil and other stains.

It takes a while to mould to the foot, did have blisters for the first two weeks but now slowly getting better. Overall good quality shoes.

These are great shoes, very well made and stylish. I was recommended to size up but found they are pretty true to their size so reverted to my proper shoe size. I'll be buying a couple more pairs in different colours now

I really like my bellies, I have not had them for long, but they are very comfortable and I can see they will become my go to shoes when something more waterproof is not needed. I first saw them worn by a ranger in a South African game reserve and I can see from that these bellies will age well!
Sizing was not easy - the method suggested on the website does not take account of foot width or the height of the instep. I used the method when I first ordered and I could barely get the shoes on - when I did they were the right length for me but very tight in the width and instep. I ended up buying the size I normally get and these were good.
